Happy Belated Birthday (Big Update!)

To us.😉 — I can’t believe it’s our second birthday (March 2022 was launch day ⌛).

How has 2024 been treating you? I hope very well.

Quite a busy year so far. Let’s dive in. 🤿

What’s up?

A lot. The corner line is completely gone, thanks to more work from Christian and Margelo! Finally. 😌

Christian also implemented a beautiful way to swipe left or right to select a chapter. Swiping left and right feels natural and gives you (the user) the feeling of a book rather than a tablet. This was a feature I wanted from the start. It was worth the wait, though. Christian took a week to do the groundwork.

Matt has been working hard to implement this new method, and we are finally ready to share it with you.

Other new little features (after two whole months of no updates from us):

• You can use your finger or standard stylus to draw now! (Go to settings to activate)
• You can hide the dotted lines in landscape mode
• No more flashing after using the highlighter
• A red dot next to every chapter on the chapter selection menu that has any form of annotations (this minor feature is actually very handy)

In a month or two, Christian will revert to rewrite some code, giving us faster performance and speed.

Matt and Herminio will work on bringing finger drawing to the iPhone and implementing Adapty (a Paywall feature we added in January but still need to implement fully).

Then, finally…… an ANDROID version!

Revenue

Revenue has doubled and doesn’t seem to sink back after the Black Friday, Christmas, and New Year's specials. What has been helping is the Lifetime Purchases. It feels like $59 is the sweet spot for the LIFETIME DEALS.

It’s good, though, as the developers' bills are $10k per month now. It’s crazy that version one of Pencil Bible cost only $5000 to make!

Overall, the App is growing and stable. We have many positives, and it feels more and more like the App I wanted four years ago.

Translations

Herminio has been working hard to add more translations. I’m targeting ten new translations this year. We have already added 3:

• New Living Translation (NLT)
• NVI Spanish
• NVI Portuguese
• NKJV — is in the works (just waiting for the file from HC)

Marketing

We were featured on Craig Brown's channel in March. I am very honoured that PB could appear in his timeline. Thanks, Craig. This little gesture from him doubled sales for that day!

I have tried to make my videos using PB, but they aren’t as cool as Craig’s. Maybe I will share them later.
