Happy Birthday 🎂

Hi!

Sorry — it’s been a while. Almost there.

Version 2.0 (V2)

The developer team is working really hard on V2 of PB. I’m throwing every resource I can find into this version. Some of the most requested features included in V2 will be:

  1. Palm Rejection
  2. Draw with the Apple Pencil, scroll with your finger
  3. Multiple pencils & highlighters that save the last colour used
  4. Settings for Left-Handed people
  5. M2 iPad support for the Pencil
  6. Horizontal / Landscape Mode
  7. Smooth writing experience
  8. Everything is faster & smoother
  9. New look toolbar with quick tool selection & customization

That’s what you will see on the outside. In the engine room (code), everything has been redone, refactored, and fine-tuned for future capacity and growth.

Some bugs that will still be with us on launch:

  • Swiping is not the best quality
  • TPT translation notes
  • Upgrading & Pop-Ups need work
  • Performance on older iPads
  • Pencil & Highlighter feel & look

Notes not saving

Please remember if you have not seen this note about annotations (your notes) not being transferable to V2 then read this: www.pencilbible.com/note

Translations

We actually have the CSB on file but have had zero time/resources to add it to the app. Very frustrating as you might think.

Some bad news concerning the NIV is we have gotten the rights to the whole world except for the USA. The amount of red tape around the NIV is breathtaking. I will keep you informed on how things progress.

At the moment we just don’t have the resources to add more translations, but I’m sure in the very near future we will.

The golden question

So when will we launch V2? I have made so many promises (not kept — so sorry) about launch times so I don’t want to set unnecessary expectations. If there are no new hard problems to solve I can confidently say before the end of April.

Your feedback, prayers, and support have been very helpful. I appreciate it.

Erin

P.S. Donations: Finance greatly limits how fast we can develop and the quality of development. If you’re interested in helping to accelerate development and improve the quality of the app, please send me an email or dm.

P.S.S. Our 1 year Birthday was in March 🍰

P.S.S.S. I paid tax (a small amount) on income for the PB in the USA. Even though I’m a South African citizen and haven’t been to the USA. The internet is amazing!
